Under the direct supervision of the Director of Sales and Engineering this position will require the System Engineer to design, estimate, and sell residential and commercial HVAC systems. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sell residential and light commercial HVAC systems including but not limited to new construction and retrofit projects.
2. Gathering, calculating and compiling take off data for use in bid proposal estimates
3. Preparing routine estimates.
4. Maintaining current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors
5. Utilizing standard estimate computer software to present information to management
6. Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity.
7. Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
8. Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy.
9. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
10. Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
11. Interface with Owner, A/E and /or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates
12. Have and develop strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers and a solid understanding of their capabilities.
13. Prepare conceptual estimates as required.
14. Perform additional assignments per direction of Director of Sales and Engineering
15. Utilize and have subcontractors complete the pre-qualification form
16. Lead internal pre-bid meetings for assigned projects
17. Understand make up of wage rates
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 year of construction industry estimating and designing experience for residential HVAC and light commercial.
High school or equivalent degree required.
Proficient with computer, internet and software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), Wrightsoft, (Auto CAD LT, Quickpen and Energy Gauge a plus)
Strong work ethic
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Customer service experience
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Valid and clean driving record, bondable and drug free.

o Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of PMM.

o Acts as sponsor for large projects.
o Coach PMs or Associated PMs in medium size projects.
