Seasonal position available with an established lawn/landscape company. Steady work generally through mid November. Most weeks candidate will see 30-35 hours, possibly more. This is on the books, bi-weekly pay cycle, drug free work place (I don't need pill heads or hungover alcoholics on my machines hurting people or damaging sh*t). I will run a background check. If you have burglary, B&E etc. move along. I am not bringing you around my clients’ homes.
Ok, That probably rules out half of you... Let's narrow it down a little more and save us all some time huh? I've been doing this 12 years and I have seen all of these unfortunately.
*Person must have a good work ethic and reliable transportation to/from work. We start at 8 AM (and no, I can't get you back to your car by 3 so you can pick up your girlfriend) Our work day varies and I might be all the way across town.
*Person must be acclimated to working in the Florida heat. (I know it's hot, you don't need to whine about it every 4 minutes)
*Person will for the most part be running a commercial zero turn or stander mower, line trimmers, blowers. I want someone who is familiar and comfortable on these. If you say you have "experience" and you mean doing YOUR lawn, I am going to know you are full of sh*t as soon as you can't figure out how to start a two cycle blower or trimmer without flooding the piss out of it. I mean doing 20-25 stops a day, with a little hustle.
* I run a 2 man operation in the off season and I am hiring a 3rd (as we always do) to help handle the work load of the rainy season. Meaning, I NEED 3 people and if you are going to call out all the time or no-call/no-show then your happy butt will not last long before I kick it to thy curb. If I only wanted 2 guys to show up everyday I would only have one employee and myself, you would not be reading this ad right now.
*If you bring in water bottles full of vodka to drink during the day, You will be fired and very possibly have your ass handed to you on the way out the door. You are risking my lively-hood by having an open container in my truck. Same goes for bringing drugs in my truck. This is beyond unprofessional, and a great way to piss me the hell off.
*Accidents happen from time to time even when you are being careful. If you hit a sprinkler head or damage something else you HAVE TO TELL ME right then so I can fix it for the client. If you don't, they get pissed and fire me and that is some runny shit that rolls down hill super fast. The same will happen to you immediately.
*If you are blind/colorblind and can't tell the differences in the shades of green to tell where you have and haven't mowed, this is going to be a bitch for you. Don't laugh! I have seen it!
Ok, all BS aside, I am an easy guy to work for and this job is not that tough for the right person. I am asking you to email me a resume with your work experience/employment record, contact info including a phone number, name etc. I am not giving out my phone number because I don't need the flood of 40+ calls coming in while I am trying to work tomorrow. Hiring to start immediately I aim to have someone on board by Monday (maybe sooner). Pay based on talent! Experience means very little actually. Some people do something for 20 years and suck at it the whole time! Likely $10-11/per hour.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to meeting our new hire!
