Complete frame-off restoration. Bike belonged to my friends father who barely rode it, and when he did he babied it. Which I knew made it a great candidate for restoration. It is a 2003 Yamaha YZ250, which was the best year of the no longer manufactured steel frame.
I have all receipts of parts purchased and will be proudly given to the new owner. Over $2500 spent on restoration. Complete top end, professional powder coated frame, subframe, and swing arm. New FMF Factory Fatty pipe and silencer. All new bearings in front wheel, rear wheel, swingarm, steering stem. Carbuerator rebuilt. Restyled UFO plastics in classic retro yamaha yellow. New air filter, new seat, new grips, new levers. Every cable on the bike is new motion pro (front brake, rear brake, throttle and clutch), front and rear master cylinders rebuilt, new aftermarket radiators and hose. all new carb vent line hose. New sprockets and brand new x-ring chain. Good dunlop rubber and black plastic-dipped rims, new black factory racing clutch and ignition covers and gaskets. new brake pads front and rear.. Brand new heavy duty shock for a bigger rider (me). Rear shock rebuilt. All new fluids (shock oil, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluids)...
You get the picture.. This was to be my forever bike, but I am moving out of state for a job in town and cannot take the bike with me. Everything is new, like off the showroom floor. 3 Hours on the hour meter, which is from me taking rides around my neighborhood tuning the carb and jetting. Bike absolutely rips and pains me to sell, but she is ready for a graphic kit of your choice. I was going with the retro Yamaha hurricane kit myself, but its up to you! As you can tell I am not trying to turn a profit here, just want to get my money back out of it, and someone is getting a turn-key bike. Included are pictures of the before, mid-restoration, and after.
