The Fort Myers Power Squadron is once again presenting AMERICA'S BOATING COURSE. The NASBLA- approved course is for boaters using all types of watercraft and covers all the general boating information, including boating safety, boating laws and regulations, navigation, and boat handling. Florida law requires that persons born on or afte January 1, 1988 must complete a NASBLA approved boater education prior to operating a vessel powered by motor of `
10 horsepower or more. Most boaters who complete this course also enjoy significant savings on their boat insurance, Classes begin Tuesday March 7th from 7 to 9 pm and continue each Tuesday for 5 weeks. The FMPS will issue the necessary paperwork for graduates to receive a Boater ID card upon successful completion of short exam. The cost is just $40 (individual) or $60 for couples sharing educational materials. Free refreshments will be served at each class.
