You forgot to mention Hastert with your 94% my friend. WHY? Cause all republicans lie. It is their nature. Where do you get your 94% from??? You are a big liar like most republicans. Donald Trump is the biggest liar of them all though. If his mouth is moving it is telling a lie. NEVER TRUST A REPUBLICAN!
Nixon lied and derailed the Paris Vietnam Peace Talks in 1968 to help his Presidential campaign we are just now learning after 50 years being kept secret. That lie & political move by Nixon kept the war going for 7 more years killing many more thousands of American troops who didn't need to die except that a REPUBLICAN Nixon wanted to be President at any cost, even American lives. Johnson confronted GOP leader, Derikson and accused Nixon of TREASON for sabotaging the Vietnam Peace talks for his own political gain while prolonging the war. Sound similar to today with Trump cooperation with the Russians?? Sad how much REPUBLICANS will lie to obtain power & sacrifice our kids if need be to get it. And Republicans have the nerve to claim they are pro life and Christians. SHAME ON YOU REPUBLICANS with your war mongering lies from Nixon to Cheney/Bush. Send kids off to war to die then cut VA health care & budgets to them like Bush/Cheney did & also cut the most the vulnerable citizens from current healthcare all based on lies. Pro life & Christian my ass. Forget Watergate, what Nixon did pro longing the Vietnam war 5 more years was Treasonous & beyond criminal by killing over an additional 22,000 Americans that didn't need to die based on lies & running from Vietnam in disgrace in 1975 instead of a negotiated PEACE agreement that Johnson had lined up 7 years earlier. See Nixon link & excerpt below: SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on all you republicans who support & defend this by remaining in the GOP. NEVER TRUST A REPUBLICAN!
Nixon's Presidental campaign needed the war to continue, since Nixon was running on a platform that opposed the war. The BBC:
Nixon feared a breakthrough at the Paris Peace talks designed to find a negotiated settlement to the Vietnam war, and he knew this would derail his campaign.
. . . In late October 1968 there were major concessions from Hanoi which promised to allow meaningful talks to get underway in Paris -- concessions that would justify Johnson calling for a complete bombing halt of North Vietnam. This was exactly what Nixon feared.
President Johnson had at the time a habit of recording all of his phone conversations, and newly released tapes from 1968 detailed that the FBI had "bugged" the telephones of the South Vietnamese ambassador and of Anna Chennault, one of Nixon's aides. Based on the tapes, says Taylor for the BBC, we learn that in the time leading up to the Paris Peace talks, "Chennault was despatched to the South Vietnamese embassy with a clear message: the South Vietnamese government should withdraw from the talks, refuse to deal with Johnson, and if Nixon was elected, they would get a much better deal."
